How old are you and where do you live irl?

36, yes an old fart. Born in Canberra/Australia, when i was 10 we moved to Vienna/Austria which is where i still live with my Wife and our pets.

Whats the story behind your nick?

Started real MMOgaming when Matrix the movie came out, and me and Morpheus (also a SUNmember) were so fascinated by that movie that we went and saw it 4 time on the weekend it launched. Morph always liked the more Magetypes in all his games and i liked more the Warriortypes so i went for Neo, which was alrdy taken. N-E-O was alrdy taken too. Alias Neo was taken too, so it ended up in "Al Neo".

Tell us a bit about your gaming story before you joined SUN?

Me, Morph and some other Friends had all been playing at private Lanparties for quite some time and were really diehard Diabloplayers (i had 5 pcs running at one point with diablo on em hehe) then one day Morph came home with 2 Boxes of Ultima Online and said this sounds fucking cool, you can play with lots of others like in Battle.net in the internet and also kill em. So we began playing UO for a month with our shitty 14.4 modems and were lagging as shit. we a never made past the newbiestate and one Month later the Bill for the internet came it was around 700 Euros for each back then... as poor students, there was only one solution... lay off MMOs until you can afford it hehe.

So we went back to private Lanparties and then in November 99 Morph told me about Asherons Call and the whole disaster began . We had no clue about different servers or different kind of servers but we were told the german community was base on Morningthaw, so there we went. it was a pveserver ... my first char was a gimped speced xbow with shittiest stats ever but still we liked the feeling of an MMO and really enjoyed the first Month, a bit on into AC there were Red Players running around killing and looting eachother, we were absolutely thrilled by that and went red asap but they had gay rules on PVEserver and we heard about a german Guild on a FFA server on Darktide. so there we went and founded BoJ, first we were pure anti, which was very hard, bec being anti is just to much talk and to much drama. we built up a german anti guild there and later on all sorts of people joined. everything was goign quite well till people started using Gear, i quit for 6 months and came back and took over what was left in BoJ and we merged with Black Rose later on. That was the most funniest time of AC, we were really good and no1 could fuck with us, alot of old BoJ and BRs from that time are also SUN now.

That lasted from 2000 - 2004 i think with Breaks playing Shadowbane (allied with SUN), AO, Guildwars and then WoW came which is were i joined SUN.

Tell us a bit about how a typical day in the guild is for you

Check resources on our belongings, empty them, go grind a lil, then get owned by some stupid aoeing fuck followed by nerdrage about ping, gamebalance, shitty computer and whatnotelse, then asking myself should i really start skilling magics, saying no, bec i just dont play like that. either end up crafting, pking with a grp or grinding again.

Do you have any funny or fail stories from darkfall which include other suns?

We went out pking with the usual early days grp, decay, wrath, lego, evoke etc and then we ran into a fight and killed them all, i was so full of adrenalin and shaking that was the moment, when i opened their corpses where i realised what i had missed for more then 5 years, this simple FFA and full loot feeling, being able to kill anyone, anywhere out there if you are good enough. thats one of the most memorable feelings ive had in the last 10 years gaming. i was amazed by the ammount of loot the guy dropped that i forgot to loot myself while wrath the greedy bitch was hammering his lootmacro

How would you describe your time so far in Darkfall with SUN

Startoff was typical as in all previous SUN games, everyone was enthuastic and we had a plan, it worked we got what we wanted and didnt have to whine on the boards like other shitty o.O. guilds. The next 2 months were typical too... with a fuckload of Old Sunners dropping out of the game after they had been crying for a real FFA game for years. that showed me their true faces and how to take em. however the following 4 months were full of drama, nice sieges, nice alliance work and even for the summer our player base is better then i thought it would be, which really shows what a game like DF can do to the right dedicated people. right now, it seems we are facing an opponent who has unlimited funds for whatever Dupious Reasons, we are learning, adjusting, catching up skillwise (not me though) and its going to be a few challenging months for us i hope.

Tell us one thing about you that noone in SUN knows about you

I was close to quit SUN 3 months ago, i had a bad time and also bec so many things were not going the way id handle them, but i stuck in and its looking worth it now. i learned that going through the wall like i do 99% isnt the best option always.

Anything else youd like to add?

I am happy here and enjoy playing with you people, ive met alot of nice people and friends in the last 5 years on our RL gatherings and the boards. we all play games to have fun and thats what it comes down to. or not?
