Because I’m a pretty fresh Member of SUN, i loved to read the News for knowledge about my Guild. And in the Moment, as i finished and no more NEWS was left, Frank posted "Honey I’m home" and because of his offer I wrote a pm to him with the wish for more spotlights. A few days later I had an answer: "if you would like to make interviews or other stuff for our guild frontpage you are very welcome." ...Okaaaaay... that wasn’t really what I’ve expected but I thought: Why not? The best way to get more informations! I’m usually every day in our IRC-Channel and there I get the hint: Don’t forget the older SUN’s, which not playing Darkfall. Thats the reason, why my first victim is Xink! Hello Xink, I’m very glad to meet you. Do you would answer me a few questions?

Which game are you playing and how is your Ingame name there?

Xink[SUN] playing alot of console games and the occasional FPS such as TF2

How old are you and where do you live irl?

28 & doing the rounds currently between England & Africa. South Africa & Kenya to be specific.

Whats the story behind your nick?

I should make up some super cool story how the X is for Xtreme and so forth or something equally lame. However that name was chosen for the last of my Asherons Call rerolls when there were major changes made to melee (Sword/Magic D/Creature FoTM or something similar) I wanted an easy name that people would not have trouble with on vent as we played with quite a few Yanks. I couldn’t have been more wrong! I then found out there is a boy band by the same name which kinda ruined the name! Thanks for pointing that out DWN! And finally I was immortalized by Blizzard when they put me as an In Game Character ensuring no matter how hard I try I would always be stuck in WoW!

Tell us a bit about your gaming story before you joined SUN?

I joined SUN in SWG on Bloodfin which was an absolute blast & taught me generally the best time to play any MMO is beta to release. Prior to this I was still playing unofficially with SUN & Blood in AC which still to this day is the best MMO ever created. (Unfortunately missed UO as was playing duke nukem over my 28.8k modem!)

I started gaming around a young age with a bueatiful grey box called a NES. I think it was love at first sight as everything in my life took a back seat after this. Logged far too many hours playing classics such as Super Mario 1- 3, Solar jetman,Cobra Triangle, Gyromite with my AI friend R.O.B.! Later upgraded to a SNES where I wasted even more countless hours on Street Fighter & Mario Kart among other games. I think it was these 2 games that brought out my competitive side in gaming against other individuals. Nothing quite like a Perfect KO or lapping someone before doing a victory dance in their face. I was young & immature. Im not young anymore. Im still immature. Following on from that was the N64 & Goldeneye which for me changed multiplayer gaming and its appeal to a broader audience which lead me into a whole series of online FPS starting with Duke Nukem & Quake, through Team Fortress & Counter-strike. Now being online & generating some whopping phone bills on my dialup modem I wanted to have more players to kill / interact with. Meridian 59 grabbed my eye aswell as UO however not having my own credit card proved problematic!

My first MMO experience was in AC which was a hoot starting on the carebear server of Morningthaw (Hello Neo!) However not being able to kill people was pretty aggravating until someone pointed me to ‘the red server’. I was at this point introduced to death penalties and more importantly looting! The most rewarding thing is opening a corpse to find someone else’s gear I could now use! I had a little help from a Microsoft employee getting me setup there however it was a very rude awakening as I logged into Shoushi, ran to Baishi to see my first ‘red’ who had also seen me, ran down the mountain and proceeded to destroy me in 3 hits or less. His name was KTV ‘Welcome to Darktide’ After joining ‘The gimps’ and abusing their nice portal ties to Tusker Camps I lvled up a bit to join a few people I had gotten to know in Blood as peon number 93784984303.

Hanging with the king of macro Dazsoeb, Mr Melee Khael as well as few others such as Ondebonde, Jackal, MacHash, Blue, Festher, KTV & co. As mentioned I then joined SUN in SWG which was plenty of laughs, especially at the beginning. I still chuckle when I think about Scuba & myself scavenging for loot and levelling while Franky was wondering around with his 3 pet AT-ST’s destroying everything! I guess the rest you could say is history.

Tell us a bit about how a typical day in the guild is for you?

Well it’s been over a year since logging on to the same server as my clan mates but the usual routine would be to just log, get disconnected. Log back on vent and see what’s crackin’ or if anyone needed assistance with anything. Get disconnected again If not I would wait for Neo to log on so I could throw him some abuse!

How would you describe your time so far with SUN?

The best guild to be in for my play style & play times. One of the best online communities I have been involved in from a gaming perspective. Plenty of support & mad respect for all the committed guild members from the o.0’s to the l33t doods! So many excellent gaming memories from AB raids in AC, to SUNdays in SWG, griefing the fuck out of everyone in WoW & finally a quick stint in DF where me & Meth would go get lost as the noobs we were.

Do you have any funny or fail stories from your history in SUN?

Any time where we have griefed someone or an entire clan for them to come crying on IRC or the boards is always fun. I remember, Padt from the Axemen crying his little eyes out when we rolled their raid force on their way to MC, this was not the first or last time we would do this.

We really love to piss on peoples bonfires! As well as general tom foolery, I think the best thing about SUN is that although we all try to play to a higher level we are friendly enough to have a laugh, especially when people fuck up, which in my case was quite often! I think Schlachter moaning about something is always amusing especially the time he was powerleveling Bonebreaker and Bone got him killed by noob mobs!

The whining ensued, tissues were passed around, Vent was hilarious after that. And the icing on the cake about how serious we are with gaming, fell off my chair quite literally sitting in vent one day as a SUN group is doing scholomance only for Zunk to disappear temporarily as he is having his hair cut while playing!! Ado was not happy!

What is your most memorable gaming moment?

As a solo moment in Asherons Call winning a 1 vs 1 against a max level, fully stated out character called Ahnubus that had received a new set of weapons supposedly crafted for him under dubious circumstances when big melee changes made Sword & Magic Defense supreme. He was hanging around the hills of Mayoi when we saw each other, I already knew by the name I was most likely going to have my ass handed to me but I thought, “screw it”.

Being the jammy fuck that I am I somehow managed to resist 3 of his war spells and land all of mine. I wish I could say I owned him but it was purely luck of the dice considering I could barely even slide-cast. Great feeling to punch above your weight, killing a maxed level on your 86 gimp.

My most memorable moment in SUN was (unfortunately in WoW) the complete destruction of an Axemen raid I believe, around the cliffs of Azshara, that led to one of the most incredible annihilation's I have witnessed in an online video game of an entire raid force. Where thanks to the command wizardry of our leaders we ambushed them from the water with no remorse! The Axemen had a lot of revenge in the months to come and it was always a pleasure fighting them.

As you see it, which Sun is the best pvp'er. Whoever complememnts my play style best! I used to think Daze but I think he lost it so ill go with Lego or Twosheds!

Id rather grief for the LOL’s than PVP!
